See the current schedule for our doula workshops below! (Additional dates added regularly)
We all know that the early postpartum period after birth is an exciting yet vulnerable time for families. Postpartum doulas play a crucial role in helping parents transition to life with a newborn and assist the new little ones in adapting to life outside the womb. These doula workshops will explore the multifaceted ways doulas facilitate this transition, tailored to each family's unique needs, making this work endlessly fascinating!
How do we do this? We come alongside the whole family to help them navigate the challenges that early postpartum life presents—such as physical recovery (if they have given birth), emotional recovery, and adjusting to having a newborn (or multiple newborns!) in the home. We also interpret all those sweet newborn behaviors, offer referrals to community resources, and educate our clients on their chosen sleeping and feeding methods for their baby(ies), among other essential skills. (It's a 27-hour+ course, after all!)
In our postpartum doula training, we dive deep into what it looks like to do this work effectively. We analyze the needs of a typical (and sometimes not-so-typical) postpartum period and explore how a postpartum doula can make a significant difference for our clients through practical, nurturing, educational, and emotional support.
As your instructor, one of the many ways I prepare you for a career in doula work is by creating opportunities for you to actually "see" what it looks like to offer excellent postpartum doula care. A unique aspect of our training includes participating in role-play scenarios, where you can observe various situations. (No worries, I never call on students to participate in role-plays; it's volunteer only!) A typical role-play could involve teaching a parent to feed their baby(ies), supporting a parent experiencing emotional challenges, or practicing how to introduce ourselves to other birth community providers as professional postpartum doulas.
Because families are created in all kinds of unique and wonderful ways, weaved throughout the workshop are my modeling, group discussions, student reflections, and more, all aimed at understanding the importance of non-judgmental nurturing and respectful support for all families and their situations.
Postpartum doulas are uniquely positioned to offer highly specialized, compassionate care to clients and their families. Your passion and uniqueness are desperately needed in your birthing community.
There is a seat waiting for you. Although there are no prerequisites to register, once registered, you will receive some light pre-work to help get you ready for class.

Curious about what the process looks like to become a certified postpartum doula? Wondering if you can do this, and is this work really for you? Want more details/information on my DONA Int'l postpartum doula training? Or maybe you don't even know where to start and want to talk about what this all can specifically look like for you. I'd love to hear from you!
I offer a 30-minute one-on-one Zoom consultation to answer your questions, get to know your story, and, using my life coaching skills, work together to figure out your next steps (whatever that looks like for you). You'll leave the call with clarity on whether this postpartum doula path fits you, a clear picture of what the postpartum doula workshop and PCD(DONA) process involves, and a concrete next step; not just information, but a plan if desired.
Investment: $35 - fully credited toward any program you enroll in, so this is a real personalized conversation, not a sales pitch.
When booking, please keep in mind that if you're unable to make it, reschedule at least 24 hours in advance via the Zoom email links. I'm happy for you to reschedule.
